Who Are Involved?

Road Scholars learners all share a desire to see the world and to learn on their free time. They are passionate, creative, relaxed people from all kinds of backgrounds. In general, Road Scholars learners are college-aged, but some are no longer in school, some never attended, and some have used life as their only form of education. For insurance purposes we ask that our particpants be over 18 years old, however, we are willing to find ways to accomodate younger learners. Participants have come from over twenty different colleges including Bergen Community College, Ramapo State College, Princeton University, Rutgers University, University of Wisconsin, NewYork University, School of Visual Arts, and the College of New Jersey. Road Scholars learners represent the diversity of our community with members coming from many different countries, backgrounds, orientations, and interests. Road Scholars learners are very involved in their communities and many spend their summers traveling and working as teachers in places like Costa Rica, Nepal, and Siberia. There is no one type of Road Scholars learner...other than someone with a passion to learn more about his/her world.
