A Look at Natural Diversity at New Jersey's Highest Point

October 13-14, 2001

There's nothing quite like the Appalachian Trail at the height of the fall foliage change. We'll spend this overnight camping trip exploring the beauty of the northern New Jersey forest by engaging in some activities which will allow us to get to know the very diverse species who make their home in New Jersey's woodlands.

We will drive up to High Point early Saturday morning and set up a base camp on the shores of a small and lovely lake in the campground before setting off to do some trail work on our own.

There will be time for solo hikes, some group activities, a night around the campfire (hopefully it won't be too cold!) and a hike up to the obelisk which marks New Jersey's highest point.
